Posey Lateral Wedges offer an effective positioning solution for patients, allowing medical workers to turn patients without assistance. Each Seating Positioning wedge is filled with polystyrene beads that can be adjusted to the comfort needs of individual patients. Unlike foam wedges or pillows, they maintain their shape over time and do not compress.
Lateral Positioning Wedges reduce the occurrence of pressure ulcers when used to cushion a patient’s bony prominences. They also help caregivers comply with NPUAP and AHRQ guidelines for using a 30-degree lateral inclined position when turning patients to help avoid putting unnecessary pressure on the hip.
These Bed Wedges are covered in a vinyl mesh material that allows air to circulate. This material’s breathability eliminates excess heat and keeps the patient cool while using the wedge. Optional bead refill kits allow the wedges to be filled or refilled to the desired density. The wedges have zipper closures to allow access to the bead fill.
