Oasis LSO LumboSacral Back Support Brace Patient Fitting Instructions
- Place the Optec Oasis LSO Brace around your waist with the side closure pre-attached to the left side of the front panel. Proceed to attach the right hook and loop attachment to the right side of the front panel.
- Align the orthosis so that front panel is centered over your abdomen and the center of the back panel is aligned over your spine.
- Using the arthritic thumb grips, detach the bottom compression straps and pull straps simultaneously away from your body.
- Secure the left strap to the center of the orthosis followed by the right strap. Repeat for top strap if applicable.
- Finally, ensure that the orthosis fit is snug and does not cause any discomfort.
- For best results, re-tighten the straps while lying on a bed with your knees bent and feet flat.
Care Instructions for LumboSacral Back Support Orthosis
- Always wear a t-shirt or orthopedic body sock under your orthosis.
- To clean the orthosis, hand wash it with mild soap in cool water.
- Allow the orthosis to air dry.
- It is not uncommon for your body to change size while wearing the orthosis because of the compression and reduction in post-surgical swelling.
- If you change enough in size that you can no longer adjust the straps to achieve compression, see your practitioner for a follow-up visit to resize or replace your brace
