How to apply Medi-Tech SpandaGrip Bandage?
- Cut a length of SpandaGrip to fit the limb or area to be covered
- Allow an extra 2-3cm (1 inch) for overlap or fold over
- Draw the tubular bandage carefully over the limb or area like a stocking.
- A single layer only is recommended.
Note: SpandaGrip stays in place without clips, pins, or tape!
Usage Guidelines for Spandagrip Tabular Bandage
- The compression and support properties of SpandaGrip remain consistent even after reapplication
- Generally, SpandaGrip can be reapplied 20 times or more (conservative estimate) depending upon the type of condition it is being used for. Support for strains, sprains, soft tissue injury, and general edema being the most general.
- If used for wound dressing securement it might get soiled which will affect how many times it can be reapplied
- If SpandaGrip is badly soiled it should be laundered frequently or be replaced.
- SpandaGrip can be sterilized by autoclaving. Recommended Autoclave Cycle: 275º Fahrenheit for 4 minutes.
- The RH/Relative Humidity of SpandaGrip is 60% – 70%. There is no anticipated humidity reduction that will adversely affect SpandaGrip.
How to clean the Medi Tech SpandaGrip Measuring Tape?
- For sanitary reasons, MTIC recommends using the measuring tape on a single patient If your protocol indicates that it can be used on multiple patients, the tape measure can be sanitized by wiping the entire length of the tape (both sides) with an alcohol prep pad. Let it dry completely before storing it and reusing.
- Can be washed up to 20 times or more without the loss of elasticity
- Hand wash – warm water with mild laundry detergent or dishwashing liquid
- Drip/hang to dry
- Do not use bleach
