How to use Brava Ostomy Paste with Pectin?
Preparation
To avoid contamination of the paste
- Keep the tube away from water and prevent contact between the tube and the stoma.
- Wash your hands with soap and water before and after applying the paste.
Ensure that the skin around the stoma is clean and dry before applying the Paste.
Application
- Paste may be applied directly from the tube onto the skin to level deep skin folds, scars, or uneven surfaces. Do not apply Paste on the entire adhesive area. It can also be applied directly to the back of the adhesive ostomy barrier
- If needed, level the Paste by gently smoothing using a moistened finger
- After applying the adhesive ostomy barrier, ensure a perfect fit around the stoma by pressing the area immediately around the stoma with your fingers. This ensures that the paste fills in any areas of uneven skin
After use, remove any residual paste on the tube with a clean tissue. Recap the tube tightly to prevent contact with moisture.
Removal
- The paste can be removed easily with lukewarm water and a washcloth. A slight residue of paste can be left on the skin when applying the next appliance. It is better to leave a slight residue than risk irritating the skin through complete removal.
Disposal
- The product should be disposed of together with household waste. Do not flush the product down the toilet.
