How to use ActivaDose II Device?

To Start

  • insert a 9 volt battery into the battery compartment
  • Confirm tDCS sponge electrodes are properly setup and saturated with saline solution. The “bump” ofthe lead cable port on the metal conductive mesh should be facing away from the sponge insert.Refer to the “Sponge electrode maintenance” section of the user manual for more information.
  • Position tDCS sponge electrodes in the desired montage location using the Caputron Universal Strap
  • Connect lead cables to tDCS sponge electrodes and output jack of Activadose II tDCS Unit.
  • Note.Red Anode(+)Black Cathode(- )
  • Press the “Dose/Power” knob to turn on the unit.Select dose by rotating “Dose/Power” knob. Dose represents the value of current (inmA)x time(in minutes). When using the device for tDCS, the dose will be the timer. Ex.4 mA x 10 min = 40 mA-min (dose), 2 mA x 20 min = 40 mA-min (dose), 2 mA x 40 min = 80 mA-min (dose)
  • Note: this means a dose of 40mA min at a current of 2mA will yield a time of 20 minutes
  • Select current by rotating “Current” knob
  • Rotate “Dose/Power” knob to begin stimulation

When to Use ActivaDose II Device?

  • For the administration of soluble salts or other drugs into the body for medical purposes.
  • As an alternative to hypodermic injection in situations when it is advisable to avoid the pain that may accompany needle insertion and drug injection.
  • When it is advisable to minimize the infiltration of carrier fluids.
  • To avoid the damage caused by needle insertion when tissue is traumatized.

Contraindication:

  • Contraindicated for use on patients:
    – With electrically sensitive support systems (For example: pacemakers).
    – With known allergy or sensitivity to the drugs to be administered.
    – For use over damaged or denuded skin or other recent scar tissue, across the right and left temporal regions.
    – For treatment of the orbital region.

Cleaning:

  • Clean the case and lead clip wires as needed with an alcohol moistened cloth.
  • Do not immerse in fluids.

Disposal:

  • Dispose of according to local, state and federal regulations.
